The Spark That Started a Movement
Atomic Athletics was born from a breaking point. Meet Jayden. He once dreaded practice so much that he would have panic attacks under the pressure of competitive sports. Across the country, over 70% of kids face the same pressures—yet without alternatives, many quit sports by age 13, burned out, anxious, or disconnected from joy.
Atomic Athletics, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, empowers kids to thrive—building confidence, character, and community in a supportive, multi-sport environment that puts their well-being first.
Today, Jayden is thriving—one of 250 athletes reporting greater confidence, stronger coping skills, and resilience. We’re not just developing athletes; we’re raising leaders who carry these lessons far beyond the game.
The Story Behind Atomic Athletics
When my son Jayden was six years old, he loved soccer. But the joy quickly started to fade. The pressure to perform on a competitive team became overwhelming. Lead ups to practices turned into moments of fear and panic. We found ourselves bracing for meltdowns before even getting into the car. His love for the game was disappearing right before our eyes.
As a parent of three kids, I felt like I was failing them. My daughter was playing on a competitive team of seven-year-old girls that I was coaching. My oldest son was stuck in a high-pressure soccer environment. My youngest was about to enter the same system at just five years old. At the same time, my kids were also playing basketball and baseball/softball, and I wanted to give them space to explore different sports—but the message was clear: specialize now, or get left behind. I didn’t know how to navigate the pressure.
As a coach, the frustrations cut even deeper. I was told that multi-sport athletes weren’t welcome and that the female side would not be prioritized. I saw children excluded simply because they wanted to dance, join the band, or play another sport. I witnessed coaches yelling at children, demanding wins and exact performance. The breaking point came mid game where a coach’s hat was rip off, throw it to the ground, and parents watched with embarasement as their coach rampaged up and down the sidelines. That was the moment I knew: I did not want to be part of this system anymore.
So we made a change. We moved my son to a different team—led by a coach who had once coached my daughter. There wasn’t space on the roster for him, so he could only practice but something incredible happened: Jayden came alive again. He smiled. He wanted to play. He rediscovered his joy. That coach is now the Coaching Director of Atomic Athletics—and the Vice President of our organization. This man was the spark that turned despair into vision. Together, a group of parents with a better idea of the future, imagined a better way forward.
And that’s how Atomic Athletics was born.
Atomic is more than sports. It’s a safe, supportive place where kids can be themselves and thrive. It’s a program rooted in confidence, character, and community—a holistic approach that allows kids to play multiple sports, have life long postitive child hood experiances, discover their passions, and grow into resilient, well-rounded young people.
Today, more than 250 athletes call Atomic home. They are part of the 95% who report greater confidence, the 85% whose parents see stronger friendships, and the 20% who can play because of scholarships that remove financial barriers.
Our mission is to ensure that no child is ever excluded, pressured, or broken down by a system that was meant to lift them up.
This is why Atomic Athletics exists. Because no parent should have to choose between their child’s mental health and their love of the game. And no child should ever lose their joy to the pressures of early competition.
With gratitude and hope,

Our Non Negotiables
At Atomic Athletics, every athlete thrives through experiences that are non-negotiable: professional-stage opportunities, mentorship, specialized training, and a united community. Here, players don’t just grow as athletes—they grow as leaders, role models, and resilient individuals. Excellence, support, and belonging aren’t optional—they’re the foundation of everything we do.
Professional Experiences
At Atomic Athletics, every athlete steps into a professional arena. Whether it’s walking onto a stadium field, joining a pre-game experience, or meeting a professional athlete, these opportunities aren’t optional—they’re guaranteed. We believe that standing on a professional stage sparks inspiration, helping young athletes dream bigger and see what’s possible. Beyond the excitement, these moments create positive childhood experiences that build confidence, strengthen community connections, and leave an impact that lasts.
Atomic Mentorship Program (AB/AG)
Every athlete in Atomic Athletics will have a Big or Little Brother or Sister through our Atomic Mentorship Program (AB/AG). Throughout the year, pairs participate in planned activities that build leadership, connection, and trust.
No athlete grows alone. By being part of Atomic Boys or Atomic Girls, players learn what it means to both give and receive mentorship. Through encouragement, guidance, and shared experiences, our athletes form lasting bonds that reach beyond the field—and grow into positive role models who influence others for the better.
Specialized Development Training
Every player will have access to specialized development training designed to sharpen the technical skills of their sport. These sessions are led by qualified professional coaches and are carefully separated by age groups, ensuring athletes receive the right level of challenge and guidance. In this group-training environment, players gain another pathway to grow as complete athletes—refining their abilities, building confidence, and preparing for the next level.
One Atomic Community
At Atomic, no team stands alone or sets its own culture and expectations. We are one.
All of our athletes, coaches, and families share the same mission: to create a community that supports, uplifts, and grows together. No matter what team you’re on—or whether you’re on a field, a court, or any other playing space—if it carries the Atomic name, it carries the same culture and the same commitment.
Every player is part of something bigger than a game: a united community where belonging and impact always come first.
Our Atomic Impact Mission
At Atomic Athletics, we believe youth sports should be more than competition—they should be a catalyst for lifelong success. Our mission is to go beyond the game to protect youth athletes’ mental and physical well-being, prevent burnout, and equip the next generation with skills that last far beyond the field.
Built on our 3C’s—Confidence, Community, and Character—we use a multi-sport approach inspired by elite athletes to create well-rounded individuals who thrive not only in sports, but in school, relationships, and life.
What sets Atomic Athletics apart is our commitment to becoming an evidence-based program. We are working alongside Utah Valley University through an IRB-approved case study and partnering with the Utah Department of Health & Human Services to pilot prevention-focused programs. These initiatives position Atomic Athletics to join the nation’s gold-standard prevention models, using research-driven strategies to address risk and protective factors that influence healthy youth development and community well-being.
Our vision is bold: to set the standard for what youth competitive sports should look like nationwide. By partnering with schools, recreation programs, and communities, we aim to provide professional-level opportunities for every child—regardless of background—and make an atomic impact on the future of youth sports.
